The team at Air Physiotherapy are all specialist respiratory physiotherapists. This means each of them has extensive experience in the respiratory field and have specialised in the respiratory system to help those with breathing conditions.

Each physiotherapist is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), The Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Respiratory Care (ACPRC) and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Your physiotherapist can provide assessment and treatment virtually over video call, in one of our clinics, or in your home or hotel. All steps to protect you from the Coronavirus will be taken including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) where indicated.


Emily Lockwood


The founder of Air Physiotherapy, Emily, has ten years experience in the field and has worked at the UK’s leading heart and lung hospital, The Royal Brompton, since 2012.

She has a wealth of experience treating patients with breathing problems and lung conditions, both in the NHS and private sector, and set up Air Physiotherapy in 2017.

Emily has a specialist interest in breathing pattern disorders, exercise induced breathing symptoms and complex airway clearance.


Karen Dobson


Karen qualified as a physiotherapist 14 years ago and specialised in cardio-respiratory physiotherapy early in her career.

Having worked in the NHS for 12 years before she moved to the private sector, she has worked in world class institutions such as the Harefield, the Royal Brompton and St Thomas’ Hospital

Karen has extensive experience working with patients with heart and lung conditions, and now sees a large number of people with complex breathing pattern problems or hyperventilation syndrome. She also has a specialist interest in rehabilitation, airway clearance, and exercise.


Helene Bellas


Helene qualified as a physiotherapist in South Africa in 2002. She has worked in the field of respiratory for the past 16 years at various NHS trusts across London and in the private sector for the last 8 years.

During this time she has specialised in chronic respiratory disease management and had worked in pulmonary rehabilitation and various outpatient respiratory clinics ( COPD, asthma, lung fibrosis, cough, breathlessness and bronchiectasis).

Her special interests are chronic cough, breathing pattern disorders and exercise in lung disease.


Stephanie Grefsheim


Stephanie started her physiotherapy career at the Harefield Hospital, solidifying her interest in Cardiorespiratory physiotherapy.

More recently, she has worked at the world renowned Royal Brompton Hospital, where she particularly enjoyed working within the Pulmonary Rehabilitation service for patients with chronic lung conditions. She has also worked in the outpatient setting where she has helped patients with breathing pattern problems.

Stephanie enjoys teaching people airway clearance techniques and has a special interest in breathing pattern dysfunction. In addition, she incorporates her personal experience with yoga and singing into her work with patients.
