Emily Lockwood
Director and Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapist

QUALIFICATIONS: BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, MCSP, MACPRC

The founder of Air Physiotherapy, Emily, has been working in the respiratory field since 2012. She spent a large proportion of her career working at the world renowned Royal Brompton Hospital where she gained valuable, specialist experience.

Her clinical experience lies within the management of chronic respiratory conditions and identifying and treating breathing pattern disorders. She has a specialist interest in complex breathing disorders and causes of breathlessness.

In her NHS work, she helped establish physiotherapy treatment pathways for those with exercise induced laryngeal obstruction and excessive dynamic airway collapse. More recently, Emily has been applying her skills to help those with long-covid symptoms such as ongoing breathlessness and fatigue.

Emily set up Air Physiotherapy on her own in 2017 and since then the team has grown considerably. Emily and her team treat patients from all over the world in their clinic locations, in patients’ homes, and virtually.

Nowadays Emily spends most of her time working on the nuts and bolts of Air Physiotherapy, ensuring the service offered to patients is seamless and of the highest quality. She is very proud to have a team of exceptional respiratory physiotherapists who help deliver detailed and evidence-based assessment and treatment to our patients.
